WHEN LOGIC FAILS

1. Argumentum Ad Hominem

Example: "You didn't even go to High School, how could you possibly know what that means!"

2. Argumentum Ad Ignorantiam

Example: " Since no one has proven that aliens do not exist, then they must exist."

3. Argumentum Ad Nauseam

Example: " There is no evidence that I ran over that dog, there is no evidence that it happened, there is no evidence."

4. Argumentum Ad Numerum

Example: " At least 90% of the worlds population is made up of nice and respectful people."

5. Argumentum Ad Populum

Example: " More than half of the class agrees that the lunch the school gives us is horrible."

6. Argumentum Ad Verecundium

Example: " I gave my idea and it was similar to what the President of the club said, so I must be correct."

7. Dicto Simpliciter

Example: " Women are more vulnerable than men, therefore they have trouble when enlisting in the military or army."

8. Non Sequitur

Example: " This week has been a very hot week, therefore we should all shower with warm water."

9. Red Herring

Example: " A lot of people are dying everyday, -- How are we suppose to help the poor? "

10. Tu Quoque (you too)

Example: " She accused her of bulling, but she did it too."
